My name is Mark.

I've been active professionally in the web development industry since 2000. In those years, I have built up a very broad scope of experience, both from the perspective of acquired skills and disciplines, but also with regards to the type of company structures, project management methodologies I operated under and the wide variety of clients and industries I worked with.

I grew and evolved alongside the world wide web itself, from the dot-com bubble at the turn of the century, to the advent of the mobile web around 2010, to cloud-based architecture and federalisation/decentralisation of services and data, and now to the unstoppable rise of machine learning and AI.

I have worn many different hats over the years, switching between agency work for both small business and large multinational clients, freelance contracting for private as well as government institutions, and most recently becoming co-founder and CTO of TripHeroics / CyclingHero an innovative platform to allow cycling and other adventure sport tour operators to manage and operate self-guided trips.

Although the web technology landscape has changed enormously in the past 25 years, my enthusiasm for it and for the ability to make something wonderful and impactful - whether it's about improving the lives of a limited audience or about communicating to the planet - has remained.

If that is something that resonates with you, I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
