The Misinformation Crisis

Disinformation, often highly coordinated, has poisoned public discourse, eroding trust in institutions, democracy, and even the concept of objective truth. Generative AI has supercharged this problem, enabling hyper-realistic fake content at scale. The consequences are stark and the stakes are high: without the ability to separate fact from fiction, social stability and individual freedoms are at risk.

The powers behind the disinformation campaigns are emboldened by the abilities that AI gives them, but at the same time other organisations are also working hard, using cutting edge technology to build safeguards and systems which will help us restore trust in the web, and keep a clear distinction between truth and lies, between authentic and artificially-generated content.
